Provo Tabernacle Fire

I thought that those of you who used to live in the area would like to know of the weekend's sad event.  I heard it right away on the radio when I got in the car Friday morning and it was one of those, "What, this isn't really happening!" situations.  And even looking at pictures it is hard to totally feel it since it doesn't obviously look destroyed.
A cool thing that was discovered yesterday was this painting.  Yes, that is Christ that is completely unburned.  They have already sent the picture to church headquarters.

They don't know if they are going to rebuild or not, or even if they can.

Summer Happenings

When Semaj is in charge of the camera, we get lots of pictures. So here are some pictures that I like and I thought others would like as well.

Harvest Time 2009

First, here are our Halloween pictures. Semaj was trying to win the costume contest at work with his super creative costume, but they chose lame winners.

Here are some of the things that we were able to grow this last year.

This was the only good watermelon we got. We actually didn't expect to get anything, but then we did!

This is some of our early tomatoes.

Butternut squash

Banana Squash

We even had an inspector come and check out our produce. He was a pretty happy guy.

He tried to be very thorough.

(You can see most of our 25 pumpkins in the background)

He even taste tested on occasion.

This is what we were able to store besides the squash that I didn't take a storage picture of.

Top: Mulberry jam, Strawberry Applesause, & Salsa
Bottom shelf: Green Beans, Tomatoes, Regular Applesause, Pears, & Apple Pie Filling(still from 2008)

Top shelf: Mulberry Puree, Pears, & Grape Juice
Bottom: Green beans and Tomatoes

We also dried a few gallon bags of pears and apples.

Favorite Christmas Pictures

I know that this is really late, but at least it is here.
