9 Months

Here is what Kalel has been up to. The latest has been the slide. About a week and a half ago, I introduced him to sliding down the slide which he didn't seem too thrilled about. But the other day he crawled over to the slide and just started climbing up. I was torn for a moment on if I should stand there at the side for safety's sake or run and grab the camera. I knew exactly where the camera was so I grabbed it. He did climb a little higher than what you see in the picture. He also tried climbing the chair this past week too. The other pictures are all when Kalel was about 8 mths old. He first tackled the stairs 2 days after he pulled himself up to standing in front of the couch.

Why take the toys out of the basket if you can just climb in and play with all of them...except, how do you get back out of this thing!!!!!

Here are some more pictures that I like.
His first family camping trip at the beginning of July.

8.5mths old
First time eating pancakes and loving it! (8mths)
He had just been cuddling Javich, but then sat up when I grabbed the camera.(7mths)
Just another example of our happy smiling boy! (6.5mths)

This is an older one from the end of February (4mths old) when I was very glad that I had started using the buckle in the swing!

Nagol at 5 Years

Today {Monday the 22) is Nagol's 5th birthday. I've talked with him a number of times about his party for this year, and he just wants to do the same things again that we have done for the past 2 years.
- Run around shooting squirt guns at each other (even though he HATES getting water in his face)
- Hunt for dinosaur eggs
- Eat cupcakes
- All of this at the same park that we've gone to the past 2yrs.
I think it will still be a blast!

If you didn't know, Nagol is a movie quoter, and especially loves to say things that will make others laugh (whether it is a quote or not). He frequently says, "Mommy, is this funny, ________________(insert movie quote, crazy actions, gibberish, or a combo of the last 2)?
One afternoon I took Kalel up to his bed for his nap and when I came back downstairs, Nagol said suggestively, "So... where were we?" I just busted up laughing! Nagol: "What? That's what Shrek says?!" Me: "Yep, that's what he says." Nagol then proceeds to repeat it a few more times as we continue to laugh.
From Ice Age, he like to quote Sid and tell others, "You have beudiful eiyez."

Racing and being the fastest is also a very important thing to Nagol. One day I raced him to the bathroom to wash hands and when I got there first with a couple of seconds to spare, I turned around, leaned against the wall, tapped my foot, and when he entered said, "What took you so long?" He was a little confused by that so I explained to him what it meant and that it was a joke. Later that night when it was time to go to bed, he raced to his room and jumped on his bed. When I walked in, he said, "What took you so long?" I was shocked and busted up laughing again. He is such a fast learner!

Nagol is great big brother. Semaj taught him recently how to pick up and move Kalel which Nagol now does whenever Kalel is getting into stuff or a place where he shouldn't be. Nagol loves to make Kalel smile and laugh, and Kalel loves to smile and laugh at Nagol. Whenever we are out and about, Nagol is quick to tell people Kalel's name and the things he can do.

We sure do love our sweet, special Nagol!

I HAVE A PIANO!!

I would show you a picture of it, but our camera is missing. Semaj found it at a yard sale 2wks ago and brought it home. I always wanted to have a piano so that I could work on, and hopefully improve, my own piano skills, so my kids could learn and practice if they desired, and so those who do play can play it when they visit and make my day. It has been one of those things that you don't realize how much you like it until it is gone. I grew up with at least my mom regularly playing the piano and I guess she and I were the starters of "Sunday Singing Time". I have tried to continue it through out the years but it is hard when there isn't a piano or someone to play the piano.
So I'm not sure how old it is, but the previous owner bought it for her children to play, but they have all grown up now. It also has an organ feature to it. Semaj has explored that part more than I have so questions will need to be directed to him.
Kalel has awoken from his nap. Gotta go!

The First Five

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!

My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It’ll be done this year. {translation: you may be waiting a little while}
4. You have no clue what it’s going to be … it may be cards, a poem, a bookmark, something yummy or a complete surprise to you (and me!) … who knows? not you, that’s for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
6. Most importantly, you must offer the same deal on your blog - the first 5 people to comment on your blog (or if you do not have a blog, facebook) get something made by YOU!

The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me …

If you’re not the kind of person that wants to make something tangible for others, how about some kind of service for them, any type, any size?

The game is afoot!

The Past 4 mths of Kal'el'

So, I was trying at first to have these pictures be in chronological order, but blogger would flip the order of how I'd select them and then also puts all the new ones at the top. So I stopped trying so that I could just get it done. So sorry for the aging jump around. But isn't he just the cutest!
Kal'el must have had a long hard day b/c he just couldn't stay awake to make dinner...2 days in a row! He loves to face out, but I'm not thrilled about him falling asleep that way. Though I guess he doesn't mind so maybe I shouldn't either.
And don't you think that is the cutest little tongue? (3.5mths)
Here is a rare good photo of him laughing. It is really hard to catch a good smile on camera! (3.5mths)
Doesn't he look like he loves his bunny? Well it wasn't long after this that Kal'el was chewing on its face! (3mths old)
Here he is at 7wks demonstrating how in the beginning he had his hands open a lot to show off his long fingers.
Kal'el was blessed when he was 6wks but I didn't get this blessing picture taken until the week after.
This is Kal'el the night before he was born.

Here he is 1 or 2 days old in the hospital.

Here Kal'el was asleep on the couch wrapped in his feet blanket (that has stars on the opposite side). Mom noticed that he was sticking his feet out of the blanket, so we took some pictures. This is one of my favorites. He is 1 week old.

And here are his adoring fans.

This is all I have time for right now, but I will post more later.
